Passed Down Traditions is a book showcasing cuisines from Guerrero, Mexico. Recipes that represent the culture of Mexico.
Goal Create a book that shows the many dishes that were created in Mexico and passed down from many Generations.
Task
Using Mexican Food as the main dish for this recipe book. This book highlights the dishes using product photography. It combines Photography and Design into to make an easy to follow recipe book for anyone intersted in Mexican Dishes.

“Every dish feels like it remembers something: the land or the sea”

Process
The process of creating this cooking book is making a unique book that brings Mexican food to the forefront. I wanted a book that highlighted many foods made in small villages in Mexico. I kept a red, green, and earth color scheme to keep this symbolism of Mexico throughout the book. I used InDesign for the layout, Illustrator for the illustrations, and Lightroom to edit many of the photos.

Layout
With layout, I knew that if I wanted to keep the book feeling fresh but consistant I would need to have an ABA layout. I knew I wanted my layout to be a mix of the traditional grid and the modern grid.
